About The Artist
Allison Loraine is an oil painter based in Fort Collins specializing in figurative and portrait work rooted in classical realism. Her paintings are known for their dramatic lighting, emotional sensitivity, and deep commitment to truthful observation.
Primarily self-taught, Loraine began painting in 2017 and entered the professional art world in 2020 through commission work, studio assisting, and large-scale collaborative projects with established artists. Since then, she has completed numerous private commissions, participated in local exhibitions, and expanded her practice into live event painting.
At the heart of Loraine’s work is an exploration of truth, human experience, and the quiet tension between light and darkness. Influenced by the technical discipline of the Old Masters, she approaches realism not simply as a method of representation, but as a way of seeing more honestly and attentively. Her work seeks to capture not only the appearance of a subject, but the emotional and spiritual weight it carries.
Guided by curiosity, reverence, and a desire to glorify God through careful observation of creation, Loraine paints what genuinely awakens her sense of wonder rather than what is merely decorative or commercially driven. Through portraiture and narrative imagery, she hopes to create moments of familiarity, belonging, and reconnection — inviting viewers to encounter something both deeply human and quietly divine.
